14 Teams Book Spots at 2023 Africa Cup of Nations


The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is taking shape, with 14 teams having booked their spots in the tournament so far. The remaining 10 spots will be decided in the September 2023 qualifying matches.

Zambia, led by former Black Stars head coach Avram Grant, will be making a return to the continental stage for the first time since 2015. Nigeria also booked their ticket to the tournament, thanks to a 3-2 away win over Sierra Leone on Sunday, June 18.

Burkina Faso and Cape Verde have also qualified, while Egypt, Algeria, Senegal, and Tunisia have all secured their places. The slots in Group E are still open, with Ghana, Angola, and Central African Republic all eligible to book spots at the 2023 AFCON.
